Ancient Fossil Mammoth lvory Bead Necklace

This half inch Fossil Mammoth lvory bead necklace is thought to have been crafted sometime in the eighteen hundreds.  

The crosshatch pattern on this bead does not show up in photographs, but it is a stunning example of the matrix.

The bead is wire wrapped in .925 Sterling Silver.  It is hung on a sixteen inch, black leather braided cord.
